On 31 July from 6-7pm AEST, Interconnect researchers Associate Professor Bridget Haire, Dr Kate Burry and Professor Adam Bourne will join ‘The I in Us‘ radio show to discuss upcoming opportunities for people with innate variations of sex characteristics to participate in qualitative interviews and a national survey about their experiences of healthcare and wellbeing.
You can listen live on iHeartRadio or via JOY94.9, or stream here.
Hosted by Interconnect Community Reference Group members Paul Byrne-Moroney and Cody Smith, The I in Us is the only intersex radio show in Australia, by and about the intersex community, for all of us. Broadcasting on LGBTIQA+ radio station JOY94.9, the program features local and international intersex guests of all ages and backgrounds, and intersex allies. The program is educational, discussing health, diversity, stigma, hiding, diverse bodies, fear of disclosure, relationships, sexuality, and intimacy, including the challenges, experiences, achievements, issues, and assumptions about the Intersex community. The show also showcases community members’ involvement in the media and arts, interviewing intersex writers, poets, dancers, artists, filmmakers, and musicians. As Cody and Paul often say, “our guests are human too”.
